Visit and Lunch at Château Cheval Blanc, 1er Grand Cru Classé A de St. Emilion

Château Cheval Blanc is one of the 4 Château of Saint-Emilion classified Premier Grand Cru classé (A) along with Château Ausone, Château Angélus, and Château Pavie. 


The vineyard covers 39 hectares planted with 52% Cabernet Franc, 43% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate is known to use a high proportion of Cabernet Franc in its blend.

The Château produces an average of 6000 cases of the Grand Vin and 2500 cases of the second wine, Le Petit Cheval.  


On Saturday 13th July 2019 we had the pleasure of visiting this legendary estate and have lunch at the Chateau. Wine served: Le Petit Cheval Blanc 2016 (white), Le Petit Cheval 2010, Château Cheval Blanc 2009, 2011 and 1978. Then,  Château Yquem 2015.
