Riesling Rheingau Trocken

Brand story

Robert Weil Riesling Trocken 2024

Robert Weil is one of the Rheingau's defining estates — founded in Kiedrich in 1875, built on vineyards Dr. Robert Weil began acquiring on the Kiedricher Berg in 1867, and led today by his great-grandson Wilhelm Weil. A VDP member farming 90 hectares of pure Riesling under certified organic cultivation, the estate is known for patience: a late start to harvest, repeated selective passes, and a cellar philosophy that separates styles by vessel — dry wines fermented in cask for structure and complexity, lighter and naturally sweet wines in stainless steel for elegance.

The Rheingau Riesling Trocken is the estate-level introduction to that hierarchy, sourced from holdings that lie directly alongside the classified hillside vineyards of Kiedrich. It is lively and energetic, with pleasant acidity and immediate drinking appeal — equally convincing on its own or as an uncomplicated, versatile companion at the table. In 2024, a year of high rainfall and mild temperatures, perfectly healthy golden-yellow grapes were picked in late September for the estate and village Rieslings, giving fruit the house rates alongside the exceptional 2023. Clear, dry and precise: the whole philosophy of Robert Weil in its most approachable form.

Testing notes

Robert Weil Riesling Trocken is precise and bone-dry, with green apple, citrus zest, and wet stone over a firm, saline finish
